The Broekman Group was founded in 1960 as Scheepvaartmaatschappij Broekman 'Motorships' N.V. and consists nowadays of a group of companies, being divided in four divisions:
- Shipping division (liner agencies, tramp vessel agencies)
- Logistics division (forwarding, NVOCC, logistic inland services, physical distribution and warehousing)
- Automotive division (logistic services for the automotive industry)
- Corporate support.
The Broekman Group now employs about 900 employees. The group has built up an excellent prestige in shipping circles, trade and industry. In order to maintain an alert attitude to the business, supported by a fully motivated, skilled and experienced management and staff, the responsibilities and activities are delegated to specific companies.
All companies are rather small or at the most middle-sized, assuring Principals and customers of a personal and adequate approach within the group of companies.
In the total shipping division of the Broekman Group a large number of liner services are represented, operating services out of Rotterdam and other Dutch ports, as well as Antwerp.
All Principals' interests are protected by individually assigned, dedicated teams.
Due to specific companies and departments, for each represented liner service, tight control of all agency functions can be achieved, whilst the forwarding and NVOCC departments can offer worldwide import and export services, as well as logistic solutions for all kind of cargoes, also with the branch offices in Amsterdam, Flushing, Terneuzen, Sas van Gent, Antwerp, Tienen (near Brussels), Budapest and Prague.
In the automotive division of the Broekman Group worldwide automotive logistic services, resp. solutions are offered. Due to the increased need in the automotive industry for more activities on land, such as P.D.I. services (deconservation), providing Post Production Options, Shortsea, rail, road transport and distribution (= 'automotive Logistics supply chain management'), automotive related companies were established, including a stevedoring company and P.D.I. centres in Rotterdam and Born (near by the Dutch-German border).
